Love this darling little lamb birthday party. Designed around the birthday girl's favorite toy, this lush neutral color palette included white, cream, carmel and chocolate brown with different textures including fleece, yarn, wool, and burlap to tie it all together. The beautiful dessert spread included: custom puffy sheep sugar cookies, fluffy white cotton candy, cinnamon pinwheel cookies, white cheddar popcorn cones, caramel apples, powdered sugar and cinnamon donut holes and caramel apple cake shooters! Our favorite details include the lamb poster, the yarn pom garland, the incorporation of wool (wool balls and wool wrapped letters) and the very grown up color palette.

Golden Reindeer Holiday Party

This past weekend was our secret santa/cookie exchange/beer exchange/ugly sweater holiday party extravaganza! We had guests bring either a dozen cookies or a six pack of their favorite brew, it's a great way to get the non-bakers involved. The color pallet was red, gold, glitter, and reindeer. We added holiday cheer with ornaments in apothecary jars, hand made ornaments hung in the window, a "Merry & Bright" sign over the fireplace, and a photo frame wall. We had a spread of appetizers which included a meats & truffled cheese spread, tortellini skewers with pesto dip, eggplant dip, salsa, and much more. For the beverages we had a hot coco station, pomegranate-champagne fizz punch, and a DIY drink station.

We laid out cut out reindeers so that guests could label their baked goods

We even had a munchkin tree

Our different drink stations, complete with stir sticks.

This lovely holiday party features a beautifully laid out desert table, carnation trees and wreaths, champagne bar and a hot coco bar, as well as a ginger bread making station for the kids. All of the lovely treats: macaroons, coconut cakes, mini tarts, cookies and cake pops were created by the amazingly talented Melody of Sweet and Saucy.

From Phu(mother of fabulous one year old): After taking Elle's 7 month photos, there was a very posed photo that inspired Elle's 1st birthday party. Elle Magazine. As someone not so fashion forward, we concentrated on photos, the font for ELLE on the cover, some of the magazine's standard headlines, and the colors pink, black and white to carry on the theme throughout the party. Invitations were the inspiration photo mocked up as a magazine cover with tag lines indicating elements of the party. RED CARPET READY? Paparazzi Perfect Picture Poses: We hired a photographer to take photos of the guests entering the house on the red carpet and stopping at our mini step and repeat. Guests received this photo as part of their thank you for coming.

First someone popped the question to you, and now you have a fiance and a wedding to plan. But let's not forget the important question you have to ask the lovely ladies in your life. For some ladies this maybe a no brainer for others you might feel like a coach at cheerleading tryouts, whatever the case, fast forward to your chosen few. There are lots of adorable ways to ask the ones you love to stand by your side on your big day. From a framed picture of the both of you, to a personalized album, a six pack of their favorite brew with a cozy that says "be my bridesmaid", to a basket of baked goodies, or a personalized clutch (think 1154 Lill or Etsy), puzzles, to jewelery or jewelery boxes, and visual graphics- I put together a PowerPoint slide show (yes I'm a nerd). A Fall Wedding

We are half way through Autumn and I thought this wedding was so appropriate, and not to mention I'm in love with the details. I'm a sucker for barns, and this wedding had not one but two barns! One for cocktail hour and the other was transformed from an old red barn into a stunning and whimsical reception. The decor was simple and autumn appropriate: painted pumpkins, feathers, old branches, lush greenery, and lanterns. And I love the dance floor under the stars with a live band idea. Happy Thursday!

CarnEvil: Coming to a town near you

There was so much creativity that went into this Haunted Sideshow Halloween party, I don't even know where to start. Inspired by a Haunted Victorian Side Show/Circus these party throwers went all out from decorating the outside of their home, to welcoming guests to a ghoulish display of food and beverages. The hosts donned on 'the bearded lady' and 'the strong man' costumes and greeted their guests with cotton candy. Their home was decorated with crows, cobwebs, lopsided portraits, crushed red velvet, and ventriloquist dolls all reminiscent of a sideshow act at a carnival. And let's just take a second to talk about the food spread. A freakishly beautiful and theme appropriate spread that was executed perfectly. And the melon head with bacon and fake teeth, a little scary but ingenious! And I am in love with their invites: Specimen jars with twins floating inside! With a card that read: ‘Come one, come all, for only one night. You’ll marvel and gasp at our shocking sights. Oddities of nature, all on display. Come see for yourself on Halloween day.’. Enjoy!

I'm excited about this spooky and grown up All Hallow's Eve dinner party, because Halloween isn't just for kids! It reminds me of the American Horror Story on FX. Maybe it's because we were at a black & white cocktail party for an engagement this past weekend, or perhaps I just love the elegance of a black & white party. Either way I'm drooling over Emily & John's elegant engagement party. With beautiful arrangements of white garden roses, orchids, and white peonies adorned with wide black ribbons, all of which complimented the unique wall decor of the venue, giving it a dramatic and elegant look. And of course there was the Asian inspired menu which was laid out so artfully, enjoy!
